The family of a GP who was found dead at her home say they have been “devastated” by her death.
Police discovered the body of Hannah Cain, known to her patients as Dr Hannah Terry, at her home in Dersingham, Norfolk, on Sunday morning.
“She was kind, generous and loving; a beloved mother, daughter, sister, auntie, daughter-in-law and friend,” the 45-year-old’s family said in a statement.
Her husband, Mark Cain, 45, of Fern Hill in Dersingham, appeared before magistrates in Norwich earlier, accused of her murder.
He did not enter a plea during the hearing and will return before a judge on Thursday.
“We are devastated by the loss of our beautiful Hannah,” the family said.
They added: “We are incredibly proud of the woman she was and of the great care she took of all her patients who knew her as Dr Terry.
“We would ask people to respect our privacy at this difficult time.”
Hannah Cain was listed as a member of the practice team at Grimston Medical Centre, which reopened on Wednesday after two days of closure.
She also served in a pool of doctors who were regularly on call for members of the Royal Family, The Sun newspaper reported.
Dersingham is on the edge of the royal Sandringham estate in west Norfolk, while Grimston is to the south.
Speaking at Norwich Magistrates’ Court earlier, prosecutor Jacqui Hanlon said paramedics were called to Hannah Cain’s home, on Fern Hill, at 02:25 BST on Sunday.
The GP was “found in an upstairs bedroom not breathing, not conscious”, she said.

District judge Matthew Bone remanded Mark Cain in custody to appear at King’s Lynn Crown Court on Thursday.
After reopening on Wednesday, Grimston Medical Centre said it would not be commenting “on the circumstances surrounding the tragic death” of Hannah Cain.
