How to beat Flame, Masked-Bound Lion Dance Grandmaster in Phantom Blade Zero

Flame, Masked-Bound Lion Dance Grandmaster has a wide variety of attacks that you need to watch for. Since he’s a fire-based enemy, You Loong’s Deluge is incredibly powerful against his fire. Watch for the following attacks and use the openings to deal damage:
- Stomp attack: The boss will raise both his front legs and stomp you four times in a row. As soon as you see him lift his legs, be prepared to dodge. The final stomp glows blue, indicating that you can parry it, so do so to create an opening.
- Spinning slam attack: The boss will spin and launch himself at you like a missile. As he reaches close, he’ll stop spinning, leap higher into the air, and crash onto you after glowing red. You can’t block this, so dodge out of the way and attack him from behind to punish.
- Front flip slam: The boss will flip towards you and slam the ground at the end of the flip. The blue glow during the flip indicates you can parry this, so do so to create an opening and punish the boss.
- 3-hit combo: The boss will swipe at you with his left and right leg, and will then spin the horns on his head and attack you with them for a final hit. Parry the horns, and the boss will collapse to the ground, giving you the longest punish window in this fight.
- Fireball attacks: In the midst of all his other attacks, the boss will occasionally toss fireballs at you. In one attack, he’ll spin and kick you with his hind leg, following it with a fireball. In a second attack, he’ll jump back and shoot a fireball mid-air. In a third attack, he’ll charge up and spit a fireball at you. You can deflect all of these Fireballs back at the boss to deal free damage.
As you can see, the boss has plenty of openings to exploit. Furthermore, having an obvious weakness to water makes this one of the more manageable fights in the game. Defeat the boss to unlock the Dormant Flaming Mane item.
