How to defeat The Sea Claw in Crimson Desert DLC

This post was originally published on this site.

The Sea Claw in Crimson Desert DLC is one of the new additions and can be found in the Great Ocean. The ship is armed and must be destroyed as part of the Faction Quests on Samora Island. Most players will want to know where to find this ship and how best to sink it.

This guide below covers the route, the recommended mount, and the order of attacks that makes the fight far less stressful.

Where to find The Sea Claw in Crimson Desert DLC

The ship belongs to the pirates, and it is easy to recognize once it is in sight. Look for black sails with a giant squid on them and harpoons mounted on the sides.

It sails the Great Ocean of Pywel, in the south sea of Pywel, which is the area marked on the map. There are two ways to get there. You can take your own ship across the water, or fly in on your dragon mount. Both work, though the flying route comes in handy for the fight itself.

The ship can be defeated in other ways, but the recommended approach is to go in with the dragon mount (Blackstar).

Fighting from above keeps you out of reach of most of the crew and gives a clear view of the whole deck. Once the ship is located and you are close by, use Fireball and Fire Breath with their dedicated buttons, and aim each attack instead of just spamming it. Then gain some height. When you are high enough, burn the ship from above.

Keep moving while you do it. Maneuvering in the air makes sure the ship’s attacks do not land on you often, so the damage you take stays low.

Use the dragon’s ranged fire or elemental breath to take out the lower-tier deck archers and cannon operators first. Thinning out that crowd stops them from sniping you mid-air, and it makes the rest of the fight much calmer.

Stick to that plan, and The Sea Claw will go down without much of an issue.
