Australia host Ireland on the opening weekend of the new Nations Championship

The Nations Championship kicks off this weekend, a new rugby tournament involving 12 of the biggest rugby teams from both hemispheres

Two pools – north (England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France and Italy) and south (South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Japan and Argentina) – will see each nation play all six teams in the opposite pool over two stages.

Three rounds will be played in the summer, three in the autumn and a finals weekend will be held at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham at the end of the year.

Australia v Ireland kicks off at 11.10am BST on Saturday, July 4, at Allianz Stadium, Sydney

The game is being shown live and for free on ITV1. Coverage starts at 10.30am.
