AEW star Gabe Kidd moved away from his dangerous in-ring persona while discussing a deeply personal matter.
In a recent appearance on Talk is Jericho, the Death Riders member reflected on PAC’s tribute show. He unexpectedly passed away a day after wrestling at the AEW All Out 2026 PPV. Gabe Kidd said he held back his emotions, then dropped to his knees and wanted someone to hug him in that moment. At the same time, he and Jon Moxley shared a private conversation about being real in wrestling.
“I’m holding in all this emotion and then we do the match, and it just… I just dropped to my knees and I feel someone wrap their arms around me. I look up, it’s Mox. I’m not gonna share what we said to each other because that’s between me and him. He said something to me that’s just real, and that’s always been my approach to wrestling is just be real, be who you are, don’t change yourself and try and act like someone else.”- H/T WrestlePurists
Furthermore, Gabe Kidd said that PAC’s passing made Death Riders more of a family and that their bond would never be broken. He said:
“We’re watching the video and the realization hits of why we’ve had this whole day and this match, and just broke down. The Death Riders are a family and before this were, but more than ever. That’s a bond that’s never gonna be broken. And if it ever gets suggested, nobody’s gonna do it because there are things that are more than wrestling.”- H/T WrestlePurists
AEW star Gabe Kidd says Death Riders have to keep going for PAC
In the same conversation, Gabe Kidd added that the Death Riders have to keep going in AEW for their fallen member. He believed that PAC would have done the same for them. In fact, he did it when AEW star Andy Williams passed away.
We have to keep going for him because if it was anyone else, he would have done the exact same thing. He would have put 100% effort in and he would have showed up to work. He did when Andy passed away. He was so hurt by that. That was his guy.”
As the Death Riders remain an intact unit, it remains to be seen what is next for them in All Elite Wrestling.
