Juventus have announced the arrival of Newcastle forward Nick Woltemade and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr on season-long loan deals.

The Serie A club will pay Newcastle £3.5m to loan Woltemade, but do not have the option to make it permanent.

Juventus had also been talking to Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee, whose proposed move to Fiorentina was not completed.

However, Juventus feel Woltemade is a better fit and, crucially, is also cheaper. In addition, the loan agreement does not include the obligation-to-buy clause Manchester United wanted with Zirkzee.

Woltemade follows Sarr in making a temporary move from the Premier League on deadline day after the Spurs midfielder joined for £2.1m.

The club confirmed Sarr’s loan deal includes an obligation to buy the Senegal midfielder for £23.6m if certain conditions are met during the 2026-27 season.

Sarr, who joined Spurs from Metz in 2021, made more than 100 Premier League appearances for the north London club and also helped them win the Europa League in 2025.

He has made 42 appearances for Senegal since his international debut in 2021 and won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022.
