A desperate Malaga side will hope to appease their home fans at La Rosaleda this weekend by securing their first league victory over Racing Santander when the sides meet on Saturday in the 12th round of the 2026-27 La Liga campaign. The hosts have endured an abysmal start to the season and will view this match as another opportunity to turn their fortunes around.
Malaga put up more of a fight than they did in previous games when they travelled to Seville last weekend, but still ended up on the losing side of a 2-1 defeat against Real Betis.
Thanks for the submission!
The hosts, who currently sit at the bottom of the league table, fought hard to secure promotion last term and end their eight-year absence from the top flight. However, they could very well be heading back to the Segunda División if their 11-game winless run continues for much longer.
Racing Santander spent almost twice as long away from La Liga before securing automatic promotion last season, but have started the current campaign considerably better than Saturday’s hosts, recording three wins and two draws so far.
The visitors were no match for record titleholders Real Madrid, falling to a 3-0 defeat last time out. However, they can be more optimistic ahead of this weekend’s fixture, as a victory could see them finish the matchday as high as ninth.

Malaga vs Racing Santander Prediction
Malaga’s woeful form puts them at an unsurprising disadvantage heading into the weekend, compounded by their struggles in front of goal. The hosts can only hope that home advantage provides the lift they need to earn a point.
Racing have considerably more quality in their squad than the hosts, but will need to be at their best and tighten up defensively if they are to take all three points.
Prediction: Malaga 1-2 Racing Santander
