Manchester United don’t seem interested in appointing Antonio Conte as their next manager if they part ways with Michael Carrick.
Carrick is under immense pressure at the Red Devils after seven winless matches, and he could be sacked if United fail to beat Bournemouth on Sunday.
Amidst this, there has been talk about suitable candidates to replace him. Conte has been mentioned, but the club’s hierarchy don’t seem to be exploring that possibility.
The Italian tactician comes with a big reputation, having won the Serie A title with Napoli not so long ago. Still, United have reservations about him due to his management terms.
Conte prefers to work with a hands-on approach and likes to handle decisions regarding transfers. At United, that is under the control of sporting director Jason Wilcox.
The former Chelsea boss can be a problematic figure as seen as his former clubs when things don’t go his way. Therefore, he does not appear on the United shortlist to replace Carrick.
