Manchester United are considering an approach for Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Red Devils explored the transfer market for a new left-back this summer, but were unable to find a perfect signing before the deadline.

The club are likely to try again at the turn of the year and Teamtalk claim that Truffert has emerged as the top of the club’s transfer wishlist.

The Frenchman has made immense progress since joining the Cherries from Rennes. He made six goal contributions in his debut campaign (2025/26).

He has yet to register a goal involvement this term, but United scouts seem convinced that he would be an ideal long-term replacement for Luke Shaw.

Shaw has been ever-present as a left-back for the Red Devils in the last year, but he is already 31 and could be playing his final season at the club.

There is a genuine acceptance that United need a younger solution going forward. Truffert could be signed for around Â£60m next year.
