Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that midfielder Kobbie Mainoo and defender Luke Shaw have not travelled for the Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid on the road.
The Red Devils have had a tough start to the Premier League campaign and have picked up just six points from as many matches.
They will now turn their attention to the Champions League, where they have a testing challenge against Atletico tomorrow.
Ahead of the game, Carrick has confirmed the absence of Mainoo and Shaw, who are not entirely fit.
The pair picked up minor knocks against Tottenham Hotspur and were not deemed ready enough to travel with the squad.
With Mainoo out, Mason Mount could get a rare start at number eight.
He could accompany Carlos Baleba, who could make his maiden start for the Red Devils.
In Shaw’s absence, Diogo Dalot could feature as the makeshift left-back against Atletico.
Leny Yoro looks poised to continue at right-back as a result.
