WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman broke character to explain the reason behind his fashion choices.
The 61-year-old recently made an appearance on the In Depth with Graham Bensinger podcast. When asked why he wears a suit almost everywhere, the veteran delivered a characteristically sharp response.
Thanks for the submission!
The legendary WWE manager noted that it is what wrestling fans expect from him. Heyman stated that he doesn’t want a photo of him to go out on the internet wearing “shorts and flip-flops” while he is on his way to a convenience store.
“Yeah, it’s what people expect of me. I’ve also been photographed like this in flip-flops and shorts, running down to the local convenience store and, you know, a torn-up T-shirt. And some truckler will go by in the aisle, so I’m going, ‘Hey, Paul Heyman. How you doing? Hey, can we take a selfie?’ And I’m not going to say no. I’m not going to be rude. So I end up in a selfie and ends up on the Internet. And there I am, you know, with a pair of shorts with one testicle hanging out and flip-flops, you know,” Heyman said.
Paul Heyman admitted that it would bother him because he would be out of character. The veteran stated that he did not want to deprive the fans of their visualization of The Wiseman.
“Because I’m out of character. That’s who they pay to see. If you ask a fan of Paul Heyman, their image of me is, I swim in this. Right. People think I shower in this. And I’m not going to deprive them of that image because this is what they come to expect of The Wise Man. And plus, it makes it so much easier when I need to show a different layer,” he added.

Popular WWE star will love to be managed by Paul Heyman
During her recent appearance on the Busted Open podcast, RAW star Lola Vice disclosed that since her arrival on the main roster, she had sought advice from several people backstage, including The Wiseman.
When asked if she would like to be managed by the veteran, the former WWE NXT Women’s Champion stated that it would be really special and she would enjoy it.
“Yeah, I’ve looked for advice from a lot of people. Heyman actually helped me a lot this past Monday.. An advocate? That would be iconic. I didn’t know he was watching me this week, but I really like that. We’ll see. It’s exciting. That would be iconic, and I’d really enjoy that. I think it would be something special,” Vice said.
Only time will tell whether Lola Vice crosses paths with Paul Heyman on WWE programming.
