In Phantom Blade Zero, after you have completed Against the Flow, you will get the Steel and Steam main quest. This quest is available in the Weeping Creek Valley. During this quest Soul will need to clear out the Ruthless Archer Camp and explore the Sha-Chi Tower.
During this quest, you will be facing off against one major boss: The Hunt. You can also encounter an optional boss, Hua, Deadly Betrothed in this area.
In this walkthrough, we will explain how to complete the Steel and Steam quest in Phantom Blade Zero.
Phantom Blade Zero: Steel and Steam walkthrough
1) Travel to the Sha-Chi Tower
After the events of Against the Flow, you will have to use the newly unlocked Dread Axe to break the chained barrier. But before moving forward, explore the stream and slay all the enemies in the area and collect the Blood-Stopper Vine. If you follow the stream further, there’s also a chest containing various items, collect them before moving forward.
After that, return to the stone bridge and defeat the enemies beyond it. They will be carrying shields so use the Dread Axe’s charged attacks to break them. Use the axe to break another barrier nearby, this will lead you to the Creek Valley Plains.
You can also meet the Panicked Mandate Disciple in this area. This encounter unlocks the Deep in the Valley Tale.

2) Explore the Ruthless Archer Camp
Keep following the main path to reach the Ruthless Archer Camp. The camp features several arches positioned on high positions across the camp. Clear the camp while moving up the stairs.
Collect the Broken-String Bow, as required for the optional Purge the Sect Tale.
After that, activate the Ruthless Archer Camp Bell and travel towards the Sha-Chi Tower.
3) Enter the Sha-Chi Tower
Return to the main path and cross the wooden bridge leading towards the Sha-Chi Tower. The enemies in this area will throw fire bombs at Soul. These can easily drain his health, so time your dodge to avoid them.
Activate the first floor bell and go to the back of the building. Follow the opening nearby and slide down to enter the underground section of the Tower.
4) Defeat Hua, Deadly Betrothed
Progress through the underground passage and defeat enemies in the area. After that, enter the arena filled with flowers. Here, you will encounter Hua, Deadly Betrothed.
Hua uses teleportation to quickly zip around Soul. She also uses quick melee attacks combined with explosive red flowers and homing white flowers. Do not overcommit to any lengthy combo attack as Hua can grab you and deal massive amounts of damage. Dodge away from the grab to avoid it.
Defeating Hua yields the Scarlet Wraithblade. Here you will also find the Flesh Lilies which are required for Yu’er’s Flesh Lily Tale.
5) Activate the Sha-Chi furnace
Enter the tower and climb up. Here, you will meet a friendly Watchful Shadow Warden, who is tied to an optional quest, A Severed Mindseal Tale.
He will ask you to find a Primal Stone. To get the stone, you will have to activate the central furnace.
Climb up the wall beside the friendly warden and use the latter to descend outside the tower. Defeat the Shadow Warden in this area to get the Sha-Chi Furnace Inspection Crank.
Use this crank to activate the central furnace of the tower and acquire the Primal Stone. Once you have the item, return to the friendly Warden and give him the Primal Stone to progress his quest.
6) Reach the Great Waterfall and defeat The Hunt Hunter of the Order and Sixfold Scythe
Follow the exterior path towards the Waterfall Bridge Bell. Nearby you will also find a Collapsing Mandate Disciple. Speak to him to unlock the Pillars of Kunlun Tale.
After activating the Waterfall Bridge Bell, travel through the tunnel, and run along the stone wall to reach the other side.
Before going down to the waterfall basin, activate the Great Waterfall Bell. Once you are at the base of the waterfall, The Hunt appears.
The fight has two phases, with the second one being exceptionally aggressive giving you smaller parry windows.
After defeating the boss, you will gain the Hunter’s Chain Sickle Martial Phantom Edge. This weapon also acts as a traversal tool.
Climb up the wall near the waterfall to access the cave behind it. Simply follow the path until the quest ends along with the chapter. In Phantom Blade Zero, this quest is followed by Snake’s Reflection.
