Erica May-Scherzer, a former Missouri softball pitcher and the wife of Blue Jays right-hander Max Scherzer, shares family updates with more than 13,000 Instagram followers.
Ahead of Halloween, she posted a snap to her Instagram Stories of herself, all smiles, with the couple’s four children at a costumed celebration, standing on artificial turf beneath a canopy of oak trees.

Their older daughter wore a bright pink cheerleader-style dress with “SEABROOK” across the chest, a sister a dark gown with a long blue cape and a bag of treats. The couple’s son was in a full Spider-Man suit, and the youngest held a purple pom-pom in a blue sequined dress. Other costumed families filled the background.
Max Scherzer’s wife, Erica, posted an emotional message after 8x All-Star’s start at Nationals Park
The picture landed three months after the family’s return to Washington, where Max Scherzer made his 100th career start against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park on July 27, his 42nd birthday, this time in a Toronto uniform.
“It’s hard to find the words to accurately describe how special this roadtrip has been for our family. Getting to see Max pitch here one more time, and better yet, on his birthday, was truly special.”
“Nats fans — Thank You SO much for all the love you’ve always shown our family. I was blown away by all the jerseys, signs, cheers and well wishes last night. You are some of the classiest fans in baseball and we appreciate all of your support. ❤️,” Erica Scherzer wrote on Instagram, alongside photos from the trip.
Max Scherzer went 2 2/3 innings on 75 pitches, allowing one run on four hits with three walks and four strikeouts in his first outing since June 10. He struck out Daylen Lile to end a 12-pitch at-bat and left to a standing ovation in Toronto’s 3-2 win.
A three-time Cy Young Award winner and eight-time All-Star, Scherzer played for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2026 on a one-year, $3 million deal with up to $10 million in bonuses.
