The WWE Crown Jewel Championship concept has given fans some interesting champion-versus-champion matches over the past two years. While the special titles may not carry the same importance as WWE’s regular championships, they have provided opportunities for some of the biggest stars in the company to face one another.
Since the introduction of the Men’s and Women’s Crown Jewel Championship in 2024, the Stamford-based promotion has presented four matches for these special prizes. Some delivered excellent in-ring action, while others struggled to live up to expectations.
Thanks for the submission!
With that in mind, here’s a ranking of every WWE Crown Jewel Championship match.
#4. Liv Morgan vs Nia Jax (Crown Jewel 2024)
The inaugural Women’s Crown Jewel Championship match between Liv Morgan and Nia Jax takes the last spot on this list.
On paper, the matchup had plenty of potential. Morgan and Jax were two of the biggest names in the women’s division at the time, and their clash was supposed to determine which champion was truly on top of WWE.
Unfortunately, the match failed to deliver the kind of action that the fans expected. The involvement of Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez also took away from the contest, making it difficult for the two champions to have a proper one-on-one showdown.
Dave Meltzer gave the match just 1.5 stars, making it one of the lowest-rated matches on the Saudi PLE’s 2024 card. Reviews of the event also pointed to the interference and lack of compelling interaction as major problems.
Morgan eventually picked up the victory and became the first Women’s Crown Jewel champion.
#3. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Tiffany Stratton (Crown Jewel 2025)
Stephanie Vaquer and Tiffany Stratton delivered a much better contest the following year, but their match still had some room for improvement.
The two champs brought different wrestling styles to the table. Stratton relied on her athleticism and explosive offense, while Vaquer used her technical skills and experience to control much of the action.
Their exchanges featured several impressive encounters, reversals, and hard-hitting moves. Pundits praised the technical approach, describing Vaquer’s performance as a master class in grappling. Stratton also received credit for delivering one of her strongest performances.
However, the biggest criticism was the match’s short duration. The two women were given just over 10 minutes, which limited how much they could accomplish. Vaquer eventually defeated Stratton to win the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship. It was a solid encounter with some excellent wrestling, but it could have been much better with more time.
#2. Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins (Crown Jewel 2025)
Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins had a lot to prove when they met for the men’s Crown Jewel championship in 2025.
Rollins entered the match looking for his first singles victory against Rhodes since the latter returned to WWE. The American Nightmare had already defeated him three times, making the contest particularly important for The Visionary.
Their story carried into the match, with Rollins becoming increasingly frustrated whenever Rhodes gained the advantage. Both men delivered strong performances, and the action featured several memorable sequences, including a top-rope crossroads and Rollins’ impressive coast-to-coast headbutt.
The finish also played an important role in the story. After the referee was accidentally knocked down, Rollins used the Rolex watch Rhodes had previously gifted him to gain an advantage. He followed it up with two Stomps to finally secure his first singles victory over his longtime rival.
While it wasn’t quite as memorable as their previous encounters, it was still a solid main event. More importantly, Rollins finally got one over on Rhodes in a rivalry that had been dominated by The American Nightmare.
#1. Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther (Crown Jewel 2024)
The first-ever Men’s Crown Jewel Championship match remains the best among the four.
Cody Rhodes and Gunther were two of WWE’s biggest champions when they collided in November 2024. Their contrasting styles made for an interesting matchup, with Gunther relying on his physical strength and methodical attacks while Rhodes used his resilience and never-say-die attitude to fight back.
The buildup also helped make the contest special. Both champions delivered strong promos, establishing why they deserve to be recognized as the top stars in WWE.
Once the bell rang, they lived up to expectations. Gunther spent much of the match wearing down Rhodes, while the Undisputed WWE Champion at the time found openings to launch his comeback. Their exchanges were intense, and neither man made victory look easy.
The finish was particularly satisfying. Rhodes managed to escape Gunther’s sleeper hold and turn the situation around, showing that he could overcome The Ring General’s biggest weapon.
Rhodes eventually defeated Gunther to become the inaugural men’s champion of the PLE.
