TNA Wrestling is interested in retaining a 40-year-old star who has been one of the biggest attractions for the company over the last few years. The company might offer him an additional role as well. The star in question is none other than former WWE star Mustafa Ali.
Mustafa Ali made his WWE debut by participating in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic. His amazing performance in the tournament earned him a full-time contract with the Stamford-based promotion. After spending nearly two years on 205 Live as a member of the Cruiserweight division, he moved up to SmackDown. He even had a match with Bryan Danielson which earned a lot of critical acclaim.
Thanks for the submission!
After getting released by WWE in 2023, Ali joined TNA Wrestling back in 2024 and has been one of the company’s top stars ever since. He started the Order 4 stable and won the International title twice. For the past year, he played a huge role in putting over Jason Hotch, his Order 4 stablemate. As per a recent report by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, his contract is about to expire at the end of this year and the company is interested in retaining him.
As per the report, Ali had been informally scouting talent for the Nashville-based company and the company might offer him such a role. The former leader of the Retribution is highly regarded within the company and has been a standout performer for the last few years.
It will be interesting to see if Mustafa Ali will stay in the Impact Zone or leave the promotion when his contract expires.
TNA World Champion Leon Slater recently praised the company’s partnership with WWE
While speaking on the Extreme Channel, Leon Slater talked about the working relationship between WWE and TNA Wrestling. He revealed that the partnership allowed him to learn a lot of lessons and he wouldn’t have been able to win the World title without those.
“I feel like for someone that doesn’t work there and that hasn’t ever signed a deal there, I feel like my run there was as if I’d been working there for two or three years. And I think the difference between me and a couple other people is that I used my opportunity there. I gained the platform, exposure, countless lessons learned, and I’ve run them back to TNA. I’ll be honest. I wouldn’t be TNA world champion right now if it wasn’t for my time in NXT and those couple of times on the main roster as well because like I said, those lessons have been invaluable,” he said.
Leon Slater defeated Nic Nemeth at Bound for Glory to win the promotion’s World title.
