Roquan Smith has drawn criticism from NFL fans following a concerning moment involving Josh Allen during the Baltimore Ravens’ 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
The play unfolded on the Bills’ first possession as they pushed for a touchdown near the goal line. After Allen was denied on third down, the Bills went back to the tush push on the following snap and their quarterback successfully crossed the goal line. However, Smith appeared to pull on Allen’s facemask as he scored, creating an alarming moment that could have resulted in a serious injury. Allen was fortunate to walk away without any apparent harm.
Thanks for the submission!

“Roquan Smith shouldn’t play another game this season,” one fan wrote.
“@NFL this has no place in the game and deserves a suspension,” one said.
“If spitting is a suspension, then what is this?” one fan asked.
“Someone needs to teach him a lesson. Not surprised another villain LB in Baltimore. That is a loser move! NFL should drop the hammer on him,” one fan said.
“I’ve seen many a secret agent silently kill someone with that move. Would be a good “mortal combat” finisher. In truth, it’s assault, and has nothing to do with the game of football,” one commented.
“Dirtiest play I’ve seen in a while,” another added.
The incident involving Josh Allen could put Smith at risk of further disciplinary action, especially given his history of fines for player-safety violations. Since being selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft, the linebacker has been fined multiple times, including an $11,941 penalty for a facemask violation against the New Orleans Saints in September.
However, Roquan Smith has never received a suspension or been disqualified from a game in his NFL career. Whether that record changes following his latest incident remains to be seen, but the league could hand the veteran linebacker a significant punishment.
Roquan Smith refuses to give up on the Ravens’ season despite concerning Lamar Jackson injury update
The Baltimore Ravens are facing an uncertain stretch after Lamar Jackson suffered a thumb injury that could require surgery and land him on injured reserve. The quarterback’s latest setback came during Sunday’s 36-10 defeat to the Buffalo Bills, but Roquan Smith insists Baltimore still has plenty to fight for.
Jackson was injured on the Ravens’ first offensive snap and could potentially miss the remainder of the season. It is another frustrating setback for the two-time MVP, who had only just returned after missing three games with an ankle injury.
While the news around Jackson has cast a shadow over the Ravens’ season, Smith was adamant that the team would not give up on its season.
“Obviously, it’s very tough when you have a warrior like Jack go down,” Smith said. “Obviously, it sucks, but the season’s not over. We have to do what we have to do. For us on the defensive side, we just have to control what we can control. That’s our approach.”
The linebacker finished Sunday’s game with 11 tackles and two passes defended. However, Baltimore’s latest loss marked its third in a row, leaving the team with a 4-4 record.
