Robert MacIntyre, Patrick Reed, Francesco Molinari and Sepp Straka will play the Irish Open at the Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg from 9-13 September.

Defending champion Rory McIlroy and two-time major winner John Rahm are the headline attractions in a field that also contains home favourites Shane Lowry and Padraig Harrington, as well as Luke Donald, Tyrrell Hatton, and the Hojgaard brothers, Rasmus and Nicolai.

American Reed, who won the Masters in 2018, currently leads the Race to Dubai and has won twice on the DP World Tour this year.

The 36-year-old announced his departure from LIV Golf in January and is eligible to return to the PGA Tour this month.

MacIntyre, 30, has not played since finishing in a tie for 28th at the Open last month.

The Scot, ranked number 17 in the world, had said after Royal Birkdale he would be returning to the USA for the conclusion of the PGA Tour season this month before teeing it up at the PGA Championship at Wentworth and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The Irish Open takes place one week before the former of those tournaments next month.

It is expected that US President Donald Trump will attend the Irish Open as part of his visit to the Republic of Ireland.
