The Condé Nast Traveler x District Top Restaurant Awards 2026 were revealed at a fabulous ceremony in Goa at The Grand Hyatt, Bambolim, where India’s best restaurants, and the people behind them, were celebrated in style. The ranking of the top 50 restaurants in India has become a definitive barometer of the country’s dining scene, tracking how chefs, bartenders, and restaurateurs are shaping the way India eats and drinks today.
This year, Mumbai and Goa each placed 13 restaurants among the top 50. Bengaluru follows with six, while Chennai and Kolkata hold four apiece. New Delhi takes three, and Shillong doubles its presence with two. The remaining five spots belong to Kasauli, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Gurugram, and Karaikudi, each claiming one. Together, the spread marks a shift from past years. Goa has pulled level with Mumbai for the first time, a sign of just how much the state’s dining scene has matured beyond its reputation as a holiday detour.
