AEW is having an amazing year. The company is currently preparing to host Full Gear 2026, and fans are expecting the upcoming pay-per-view to deliver. They hosted Blood & Guts in Jacksonville, Florida, this week, and it was a brutal affair.
The Cleaner made a special appearance during AEW Blood & Guts. The Cleaner is one of Kenny Omega’s nicknames. However, he was not the one who showed up. It was his long-time rival, Kazuchika Okada, who entered the Blood & Guts match with a leaf blower to ‘clean’ the ring.
Blood & Guts is one of the most brutal match types in professional wrestling. Thumbtacks were on the mat when the Rainmaker entered, but he did not want to bleed or get hurt because of the weapon. Hence, he brought a leaf blower to get rid of the tacks.
The NJPW legend eventually released a statement on X regarding this segment. He wrote that if anyone needs any cleaning done, then give him a call.
“Need it clean? Call Okada!” he wrote.
The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, Wardlow, Kevin Knight, Mark Davis, and Jake Doyle) (with Don Callis) defeated Will Ospreay, Adam Copeland, Darby Allin, Steven Borden, and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) by surrender at Blood & Guts. This was one of the best matches of the year.
AEW president Tony Khan compares early Omega-Okada matches to ‘The Godfather’
Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada had several historic matches in NJPW. In a recent appearance on Markin Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze, Tony Khan compared their story to the popular Godfather movie series.
“It’s something to me where, when I watch ‘The Godfather’ and I think it’s so perfect, and I can watch it over and over, and then, they actually went out and managed to make a movie in ‘Godfather II,’ of the same standard that complements the original. They go together so well. That’s the rivalry between Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada,” he said. [H/T: Fightful]
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Okada as well as Omega. Hopefully, they will lock horns again in AEW someday.
