The game was stopped for around 10 minutes as he received treatment
The Super Rygbi Cymru semi-final between Llandovery and Cardiff RFC was halted for 10 minutes amid concern for flanker Ben Fry, who was stretchered off the field after being injured in the process of scoring a try.
The clash at Cardiff Arms Park – which Llandovery won 30-22 to book their place in the final against either Ebbw Vale or Newport – was brought to a halt by the referee four minutes before half-time as Fry stayed down in clear discomfort after stretching over the line for his side’s second try of the afternoon.
Former Dragons man Fry had done remarkably well to hit the line and overpower three Llandovery defenders to touch down, but was hurt in the collision, with replays suggesting he was caught in the neck by a high arm from scrum-half Lee Rees.

The back rower was left lying still on the ground as the try was awarded and his teammates celebrated around him, with a medic quickly rushing to his aid.
However, it quickly became apparent that the 27-year-old needed further attention, with several members of medical staff coming out to treat him on the try line.
After a lengthy stoppage, Fry was then placed onto a stretcher and carried off the field to applause from both sets of fans and players.
The flanker had helped to bring his side level after Llandovery raced into a 14-0 lead in the opening 10 minutes through tries from wing Aaron Warren and centre Kian Abraham.
Osian Darwin-Lewis pulled a try back for the hosts, with Fry’s effort and the boot of Harri Wilde levelling the scores before half-time.
Cardiff led for the first time when hooker Tom Howe went over from a driving lineout early in the second half.
But the Drovers hit back through Abraham, with fly-half Ioan Hughes converting.
Hughes held his nerve at the tee to knock over three penalties in response to one from Wilde, with his final kick in the 79th minute securing the win for his side.
Llandovery – who won the title in 2024 – will now have the chance to go for more silverware in the final, where they will face either Ebbw Vale or reigning champions Newport.
Those two sides will meet in the second semi-final at Eugene Cross Park later today.
