Asuka has taken some time off from WWE. The legend, however, keeps her fans updated about her life from time to time on her X account and YouTube channel. Now, she has announced a special community appearance in her native Osaka, Japan, at Osaka City Kita Ward Citizens’ Hall.
She wrote on X that on Friday, November 27, 2026, she will serve as the “one-day station chief” of Oyodo Police Station in Osaka’s Kita Ward. Fans can expect giveaways of police merchandise signed by Asuka, plus a chance to get her autograph on items they bring. Those wishing to attend were invited to comment on the post for consideration. Further timing details are expected later.
Thanks for the submission!
Asuka will now lean into this one-day police role, which is used to raise public awareness about safety and law enforcement. In Japan, appointing celebrities as honorary one-day police chiefs has been a longstanding tradition. This will give fans a chance to meet her in a non-wrestling setting. The appearance comes while Asuka remains on an in-ring hiatus from WWE following her match against Iyo Sky at Backlash earlier in 2026.
“【Announcement】On Friday, November 27, I will be serving as the one-day station chief at the Ooyodo Police Station in Kita Ward, Osaka City. Venue: Kita Ward Citizens’ Hall, Osaka City Start time: Morning (details to be announced later),” Asuka wrote. [Translated from Japanese]
After Backlash 2026, it was reported that Asuka would be taking time off for undisclosed reasons. She would later confirm via her KanaChanTV YouTube channel that she was indeed taking time off but was still signed with WWE, although her appearances may be less frequent going forward.
Asuka reunited with her former WWE tag team partner Kairi Sane
Former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka and Kairi Sane recently reunited in a heartwarming moment captured on Asuka’s YouTube channel, KanaChanTV. The duo, known as the Kabuki Warriors, held tag team gold three times.
While their on-screen trajectory shifted in 2026 due to Asuka’s storyline with Iyo Sky, their partnership came to a sudden end following Sane’s WWE release in April. Despite the departure, their bond remains intact. Meeting around Sane’s birthday, the two exchanged gifts and caught up, proving their friendship extends far beyond the ring.
