Footage recorded by Spanish skier Ares Masip showed the moment she was swept by an avalanche in Pic de l’Hortell, a mountain in the Pyrenees in Andorra.
The skier was out with her dog Cim when she was surprised by the snow. “The mountain was falling apart”, Masip told the BBC.
“You need and must do everything that’s possible to reduce the risks”, the skier said in an interview, adding that she knew the area well and thought it would be safe.
“It’s good to remember that in the mountain zero risk doesn’t exist”, the skier added.
The skier and her dog were not hurt in the incident.
