Penta has found himself in an interesting position since winning the WWE Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The masked star can now challenge either Roman Reigns or Sami Zayn for a world championship. However, his next move could determine his place on television.
That said, this article looks at three reasons Penta should stay away from the Undisputed WWE Championship and focus on the World Heavyweight Championship.
Thanks for the submission!
#3. The Undisputed WWE Championship picture is crowded already
Several superstars are gunning for Sami Zayn’s Undisputed WWE Championship, including RAW star Je’Von Evans. The champion is also set to defend his title against Trick Williams tonight on the blue brand.
Fans already saw Penta attempt to cash in on Zayn during his recent title defense against Evans on the red brand. However, Bron Breakker attacked him before the match could begin, allowing the champion to retain his title.
Instead of returning to the same crowded situation, the masked star could focus on Roman Reigns and the World Heavyweight Championship he previously failed to win.
#2. RAW needs Penta
Penta has become an important part of RAW. His energetic presentation and exciting in-ring style have helped him connect with fans. Thus, winning the World Heavyweight Championship could make him an even bigger attraction on the red brand.
Cashing in on Sami Zayn to win the Undisputed WWE Championship would take the masked star off the red brand roster. It would also leave the company with one less established attraction on Monday nights.
If Penta wins the title, he could face several potential challengers on RAW, including Bron Breakker. Breakker and Austin Theory are set to challenge the Luchador star and Je’Von Evans for the World Tag Team Championship at Crown Jewel after The Vision member stopped Penta’s attempted cash-in.
The masked star could therefore remain on the red brand while building his profile through meaningful championship feuds.
#1. Fans still want his rematch with Roman Reigns
Penta’s first meeting with Roman Reigns in Mexico City gave WWE an opportunity to create a memorable moment in front of the masked star’s home crowd. However, The OTC walked away with the World Heavyweight Championship after defeating him.
The result gave the masked star a reason to seek another match against Roman. His Money in the Bank contract now gives him a direct route to that opportunity, without having to work his way through the contenders.
Fans who wanted to see the Luchador star dethrone Reigns in Mexico could get another chance to witness the matchup. A successful cash-in would give the masked star a career milestone while allowing WWE to revisit an unfinished rivalry.
Rather than pursue Sami Zayn’s championship, Penta should focus on Roman and finally get the opportunity to finish what he started in Mexico.
