The Best Hotels in Berlin at Every Price Point

Housed in a late 19th-century building, Irish lifestyle hotel brand The Dean brings its “vibe first” philosophy to the German capital, pairing bold design with cultural connectivity and a food concept that draws in more than just overnight guests. Interiors channel Berlin’s creative energy and avant-garde spirit from the moment you step inside. Historic architectural details sit alongside saturated colors, sculptural lighting, and a confident, contemporary design language. Room numbers are handwritten on the doors rather than printed—an intentionally imperfect detail that nods to Berlin’s slightly rough-around-the-edges character. In the bathrooms, original black-and-white tiles have been preserved, punctuated by red shower frames and boldly framed mirrors. Toiletries are by D.S. & Durga, lending a subtle spa feel. For food, Benedict is the heart of the hotel—a bakery, restaurant, and bar combined in one lively, open space. Breakfast is served until 4 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends. The focus is, naturally, on eggs Benedict in multiple variations: with ham and cheese, avocado, or pulled beef, served on brioche or a buttery croissant. The brand’s Irish roots are also present in the drinks offering: whiskey in every minibar, the Irish cocktail “Ól,” and even a dedicated Guinness tap behind the bar—a small but unmistakable nod to its heritage. —Susanna Gunst
