Anti-migrant activist Daniel Thomas has appeared in court charged with entering a restricted zone at a migrant processing centre in Dover.

The 37-year-old, known to his supporters as Danny Tommo, is accused of committing the offence on 31 March, according to court documents.

Thomas is further accused of using threatening words or behaviour in the Kent town on 1 April and obstructing a person engaged in a lawful activity on 6 April.

He is also charged with entering or remaining in Dover Docks without having lawful business or permission, the documents say.

Thomas faces another charge of racially aggravated harassment by allegedly using threatening or abusive words.

He appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Friday via videolink wearing a grey T-shirt and rosary beads.

District Judge William Nelson sent his case for a further case management hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 4 November.

Earlier this week, Thomas was refused bail during a crown court hearing over the alleged slashing of a dinghy in the English Channel.
