Arsenal and Man Utd make Maxi Araujo decision

Arsenal and Manchester United have no desire to sign Sporting CP left-back Maxi Araujo next summer, according to SportWitness.

The Uruguayan was heavily linked with a move away from Sporting last summer, but was eventually convinced to stay for another year.

Araujo has since impressed for club and country with crucial goal contributions, but reports claim that Arsenal and United are not keen.

United have no plans to spend big on the 26-year-old and prefer someone with Premier League experience to bolster the left-wing department.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are well equipped in the position with Riccardo Calafiori, Piero Hincapie, as well as club graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly.

None of the trio is expected to leave in the near future, and it does not make sense to pursue another left-back at the end of the campaign.

Araujo has found success as a winger for his national side, but the Gunners would ideally prefer a specialist on the left wing instead of him.
