Manchester United defender Matthijs de Ligt looks poised to start in the Champions League clash against Como on the road.

The Netherlands international has not featured for the Red Devils since picking up a back injury against Tottenham Hotspur in November 2025.

He was initially expected to return to action by January, but had to undergo surgery soon after in order to make a complete recovery.

De Ligt has since been working his way back to full fitness, and he could finally make his comeback against Como tomorrow night.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Carrick confirmed that De Ligt is ready to feature again after overcoming his injury woes.

With Lisandro Martinez injured, Ayden Heaven ill and Leny Yoro suspended, De Ligt looks poised to partner Harry Maguire in central defence.

United are desperately in need of a victory. They are on a six-match winless streak and must seek to end the dreadful streak against Como.
