Apart from raiding enemy strongholds in Once Human, you can also hunt for underwater treasure. The Isles of Abyss scenario has multiple POIs where you need to dive underwater to find loot chests and mystical crates that reward you with rare resources and Reverse Engineering blueprints. You can use a Treasure Map to pinpoint the location or explore every spot on the map.
Treasure Maps drop randomly from regular loot chests or from fishing, and when I checked my Inventory, I had three. However, if you don’t have one, don’t worry, we’ll cover all the underwater treasure spots found in the game so far. Note that you can only claim a treasure once.
Every underwater treasure spot in Once Human Isles of Abyss
As mentioned, a treasure map helps you pinpoint valuable loot. However, even after you get one, you need to find the location it shows. The image above shows what it looks like in your inventory. Here are all types of treasure spots in Once Human Isles of Abyss found so far:
Shipwrecks
Shipwrecks are among the easiest underwater treasure spots to find in Once Human Isles of Abyss. They are marked by floating containers on the sea, which look like oil spills on the map. Directly beneath the containers, you’ll find a sunken ship with treasure, including a mystical crate and several regular loot crates.
Before you dive, wear a Diving Suit, as the water deals damage across the entire map. You may also find a shark roaming the area, so get inside the ship ASAP. If you have tamed a crocodile, use it to fight the shark while you collect loot, or wear a Shark Skin Diving Suit to swim faster and zoom past it.
Sunken buildings
Isles of Abyss features a variety of ruins to explore, including submerged buildings. They look like part of a small abandoned settlement by the shore that drowned. From a distance, they may not look worth exploring, but run a scan and you’ll see the underwater section contains multiple loot crates.
There are normally three or four buildings, each with two chests. However, a giant shark also guards the area. You can kill it from your ship and explore the ruins for loot, but note that it will respawn in a few minutes. The best way to avoid it is to move quickly from one building to another on the opposite side.
Underwater laboratories
One of the harder treasures to collect in Isles of Abyss is in the underwater lab. These are abandoned labs overrun by coral. To find them, look for pink algae floating on the surface that look like jellyfish. Dive directly under it to find the cluster of labs.
Enter through a broken window and navigate a maze to find the treasure inside. To make it easier, scan the loot from outside, then follow the path from the entrance. Unlike the other two locations, I didn’t encounter a shark near the lab, so you only need to manage your oxygen.
