Kevin Durant‘s allegiance to the Washington Commanders in the NFL is a known fact among NBA and football fans alike. The Rockets star has been a fan of the football team for years now, and he keeps himself updated on the football league.
On Sunday, Durant revealed his early pick for MVP and predicted the next Super Bowl winner in a conversation with FanDuel.
Thanks for the submission!

“Brock Purdy,” Durant said. “I just think he is playing at an insane level. Accurate, moving around, in and outside the pocket too, just playing great ball. I’ll go Brock Purdy.”
The reporter then asked the Rockets star to reveal his early pick for this season’s Super Bowl winner.
“Safe pick would have to be Seattle,” he said.
Durant also named Arvell Reese as the rookie who impressed him a lot this season. He praised the New York Giants’ linebacker for his intensity and athleticism on offense before complimenting him for stepping up his game on defense.
Kevin Durant once revealed his father as the reason behind his allegiance to the Commanders
Kevin Durant once revealed his father, Wayne Pratt, as the reason behind his loyalty to the Commanders, who were known as the Washington Redskins before July 13, 2020. The two-time NBA champion revealed the story behind joining the Commanders to journalist Brian Tinsman in an interview in September 2013.
“My dad, he converted me into a Redskins fan, and to have him here with me, we couldn’t even dream about this,” Durant said. “It’s your favorite team, your favorite players.”
“Win or lose, I’m still going to be the biggest fan. I ride with my boys all the way to the end, no matter what happens.”
Later, Durant revealed that he leaves no opportunity to talk trash with Dallas Cowboys fans.
“Yeah! I still talk trash to all the Cowboys fans,” Durant said. “Russell Westbrook is the biggest Cowboys fan, so I talk trash with those guys no matter what our record is.”
Durant has been waiting for the Commanders to win a Super Bowl for years now. Washington hasn’t reached a Super Bowl since 1992; the Rockets star was three years old when that happened.
