WWE confirmed on Monday that the 40th annual Royal Rumble will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2027, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
The announcement came in a press release issued with Arizona Sports & Events Alliance and Legends Global, the partners in the seven-event, three-year TKO agreement announced in May.
Thanks for the submission!
Royal Rumble weekend will not be a one-night stop. WWE’s release confirmed (h/t Wrestling Headlines):
“As part of Royal Rumble weekend in Glendale, Desert Diamond Arena will host a double event on Friday, Feb. 5, featuring both Friday Night SmackDown and AAA Road to Rey de Reyes.”
Ticket information for the Friday card will be announced in the coming weeks.
The two 30-person Rumble matches headline the show, with each winner earning a championship match at WrestleMania 43, which is set for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in April 2027. The 2026 Rumble itself was held in Saudi Arabia, so this edition also marks the event’s return to American soil.
Tickets for the grand event go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 18, at noon ET (10 a.m. in Arizona) through SeatGeek.
The other two times Arizona hosted the Royal Rumble: 2013 and 2019
The first time Arizona held the Royal Rumble came on Jan. 27, 2013, at the US Airways Center in Phoenix. John Cena entered at No. 19 and won by last eliminating Ryback, earning a WWE Championship match against The Rock at WrestleMania 29. There was no women’s Rumble that year, because the match did not debut until 2018.
Six years later, on Jan. 27, 2019, the event moved to Chase Field, where WWE announced an attendance of 48,193. Seth Rollins won the men’s match from No. 10, lasting 43 minutes 26 seconds and last eliminating Braun Strowman. Becky Lynch took the women’s match after entering at No. 28 in place of the injured Lana, last eliminating Charlotte Flair.
Rollins went on to beat Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35, and Lynch closed that show by beating Ronda Rousey and Flair in the main event. The 2027 winners will chase the same prize, as they look to add their names to WWE history.
