“Dude wasn’t even a good QB in college”: NFL fans reject Dan Orlovsky’s first-round QB trade option to replace injured Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens are struggling with injuries to their quarterback room this season. NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky floated a trade for Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson with Lamar Jackson headed to injured reserve.

Jackson, who returned to the lineup after recovering from an ankle injury, suffered a thumb injury in the first quarter against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Ravens’ backup quarterback Tyler Huntley also got injured in the game.

Thanks for the submission!

“If you’re the Ravens, why would you not call Indy about Anthony Richardson?” Orlovsky wrote on X.

NFL fans reacted to Orlovsky’s trade suggestion to replace Jackson.

“Dude wasn’t even a good QB in college. He can’t play,” wrote a fan.

“Plenty of reasons lol he’s a complete clown,” wrote a fan.

“Why not just bring a guy up from the local high school team? Richardson, lol,” wrote another fan.

“Because 60% of the time he is terrible all the time,” wrote another fan.

“They would be better off calling the Jets over Will Levis,” wrote a fan.

“Because they have access to his film,” wrote a fan.

Jackson dislocated his right thumb on the Ravens’ first offensive snap of a 36-10 loss to the Bills in his first game back from a high-ankle sprain. Jackson could miss around four games as he is expected to undergo thumb surgery.

The Colts selected Richardson with the fourth pick in the 2023 NFL draft. However, he has appeared in just 18 games with 15 starts and has thrown 11 touchdown passes against 13 interceptions. Indianapolis declined his fifth-year option in May, and he lost the starting job to Daniel Jones in 2025.

Ravens quarterback options for Jaguars game

Joe Fagnano is expected to start Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2) at M&T Bank Stadium. The undrafted rookie out of UConn went 10-of-21 for 91 yards with an interception in three quarters against Buffalo, and the Ravens listed him as limited on Monday’s estimated injury report.

Baltimore signed Austin Reed to the practice squad on Monday and reportedly added Kedon Slovis off the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad on Tuesday. Neither has started an NFL game. The trade deadline could see the Ravens make a big move for a quarterback.
