Chelsea winger Geovany Quenda missed the recent training session with a minor muscle injury, according to BBC Sport.

The Portuguese joined the Blues from Sporting CP last summer, but he has since played sparingly after an early-season injury.

He has now suffered another minor muscle issue, which caused his absence from today’s and yesterday’s training sessions.

Quenda has still not been ruled out of the weekend game at Sunderland and he is working hard to be fit for the Wearside trip.

Chelsea are currently fourth in the standings with 16 points, but they are already eight behind league leaders Arsenal.

The Blues have had a stop-start campaign with wins and losses and will be eager to pick up maximum points before the international break.

The Black Cats game won’t be a cakewalk for them. Sunderland are bottom of the pile but they have been far better than the table suggests.
