Los Angeles Rams star Myles Garrett is expected to play against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Rams coach Sean McVay confirmed Friday that the star edge rusher is set to come off injured reserve after a seven-game absence, following an arthroscopic knee surgery in September.
Garrett’s potential return will have him and Aaron Donald on the same defensive line for the first time in a game. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has struggled with injuries over the last two seasons, will be up against two of the best defensive players in the league.
Thanks for the submission!

“Trouble in River City,” wrote a fan.
“Jayden Daniels is cooked. Terrible O-Line vs. Aaron Donald and Myles Garrett. Plus Jayden is down on receivers and running backs,” wrote another fan.
“Commanders really can’t catch a break,” wrote a fan.
“That’s great news. More bad luck for Washington. Awesome.” wrote a fan.
“Of course. Anytime the Commanders have to play someone, the star player comes back,” wrote another fan.
Garrett, 30, has not played since the opener in Melbourne, where he recorded no tackles against the 49ers. The Rams sent Jared Verse and three draft picks to Cleveland on June 1 for him, then agreed to a restructured five-year, $208.2 million deal. He set the NFL single-season sack record with 23 last year.
The Rams are tied for 26th with 12 sacks and rank 27th in sack rate at 4.4%, and Donald has been double-teamed at a career-high rate in his age-35 season, according to the team’s game preview.
Rams have been hit by injuries to several stars in 2026
Myles Garrett joins a defense held together with tape this season. Rams cornerback Jaylen Watson had season-ending shoulder surgery on Wednesday, while nose tackle Poona Ford is out for the year.
Rams defensive end Kobie Turner is on injured reserve with a groin injury and All-Pro corner Trent McDuffie has been limited by a back problem. The four defenders the Rams added for this season, Garrett, Donald, Watson and McDuffie, will not take a snap together.
The offense has taken hits too. Puka Nacua and Davante Adams have each missed multiple games, Matthew Stafford has been managing an elbow issue, and tight end Terrance Ferguson returned to practice on a limited basis only Wednesday.
