Phantom Blade Zero offers incredible amounts of freedom in its combat, allowing you to mix and match weapons and Phantom Edges to melt enemies in style. While the game has plenty of these tools for you to pick from, finding the best ones can be a little tricky, so we’re here to help.

In this guide, we’ll go over the best weapons and Phantom Edges to use in Phantom Blade Zero. We’ll discuss these weapons and Phantom Edges in detail, so you’re better informed on why they’ve made the list and what they offer.

Best weapons to use in Phantom Blade Zero

Outlaw Warblade

The Outlaw Warblade is a frenzied blade that shines due to its lifesteal abilities. With abilities such as Bloodthirst Frenzy and Reaping Retreat, you deal damage to enemies while draining their life to recover your own HP. This makes the weapon perfect for aggressive onslaughts, and will allow you to sustain yourself against some of the harder bosses you’ll face in the story.

Parting Hooks

The Parting Hooks is one of the best defensive weapons to use in the game. The weapon’s unique ability, Counter, allows you to enter a guard stance that counterattacks enemies proportional to the damage they deal. This means that if an enemy is landing a heavy hit, you can expect to land an equally heavy counterattack. This applies to all attacks except the black flash attacks, which you’ll still need to dodge.

The Jagged Steel one-handed blade is one of the best weapons in Phantom Blade Zero. This weapon deals a ton of damage courtesy of its impressive base stats. The real highlight, however, is its ability to inflict Bleed and force blood loss by filling the Bleed Gauge.

The weapon’s skills improve the degree to which the Bleed Gauge builds up, reducing the number of hits it takes to inflict blood loss and eat a chunk of the enemy HP. This makes the weapon borderline overpowered, making it a must-pick for anyone struggling with bosses.

Fiend Saws

The Fiend Saws is a dual-wield weapon that inflicts Fiend-Aura Erosion upon the enemy as you land hits. Filling the Fiend-Aura Erosion then erodes the enemy HP, dealing a ton of damage in the process.

Beyond this damage potential, the weapon’s Power Surge allows you to enter the Fiend Form, where all of your attacks are unblockable and deal increased damage. These two perks make the Fiend Saws one of the best weapons in Phantom Blade Zero.

The White Serpent & Crimson Viper are dual-wield weapons that balance offense and defense immaculately. Besides the impressive base damage and guard break stats, the blades have a unique Crimson Viper Orbit ability that makes a blade spin around you, consuming Sha-Chi in the process.

This means that any enemy that rushes at you will hit the blade, taking damage in the process. Meanwhile, you can focus on attacking using the second blade, balancing both your offense and defense in the process.

The Hunter’s Chain Sickle is one of the best Phantom Edges in Phantom Blade Zero. Firstly, it helps you anchor onto grapple points, granting you access to locations that you would’ve otherwise been unable to reach.

Then, it also translates well into combat, allowing you to mow down enemy mobs through efficient AOE combos. It also has a decent guard break, allowing you to punish those pesky enemies who overuse it.

Inanis’ Radiant Fan

Inanis’ Radiant Fan is one of the best Phantom Edges to use in the game, especially if you find your health and Sha-Chi critically low more often than not. By using the fan, you consume 2 Remnant Sparks to create a field around you. While inside this field, you gradually recover health and Sha-Chi, improving your overall survivability. The fan is incredibly useful if you’re tight on resources and need something to bail you out.

Bastion

Bastion will help you tank damage (Image via S-Game Publishing)

If you’re finding it difficult to deal with a tough mob or boss, the Bastion may be the Phantom Edge you need. The Bastion is a giant shield that can absorb heavy hits, allowing you to tank attacks that you otherwise would not have.

More importantly, the shield also releases a shockwave proportional to the damage you absorbed. This means if you tank a heavy hit, you’ll release a heavy shockwave, dealing a ton of damage.

Flying Dagger

While Inanis’ Radiant Fan was a survivability-associated tool, the Flying Dagger leans more towards offense. This Phantom Edge deals Poison damage in addition to Physical damage. This means that as long as you land your hits, you’ll inflict Poison on your enemy, which will then passively deplete their HP till the effect lasts. This is incredibly useful against bosses who offer small punish windows, where you need to make every hit count.

Swordsman’s Summon

Finally, the Swordsman’s Summon is the last Phantom Edge to make this list. This Phantom Edge may be a little too good, bordering on the possibility of cheesing through some of the game’s difficulty.

The Phantom Edge allows you to summon a Swordsman Captain and two Swordsman Disciples to aid you in combat, and this can absolutely trivialize a lot of combat encounters. If you wish to have a modicum of challenge in your game, you may wish to avoid this. But if a power fantasy is what you seek, you’ll have a lot of fun with this one.
