AEW star Wheeler Yuta has been one of the valuable assets for All Elite Wrestling. He joined the Jacksonville-based promotion as part of Best Friends. Eventually, he transitioned into a beast after training with Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson. After the Blackpool Combat Club disbanded, he joined the Death Riders.
The former AEW World Trios Champion has been part of the Jon Moxley-led faction alongside Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, and Daniel Garcia. The late great PAC was also part of the group from the very start. Yuta plays an important role in the stable while handling the business in the ring.
Recently, AEW took to X and wished Death Rider Wheeler Yuta a happy birthday. He turned 30 today. He has a huge career ahead of him and might be one of the future main eventers in the business.
AEW star Wheeler Yuta reflects on a turning point in his career
Wheeler Yuta discussed one of the biggest matches of his career. To prove his worth in April 2022, Yuta faced Jon Moxley. After a great match, the Ace accepted him into the Blackpool Combat Club. While speaking on AEW Unrestricted, the 30-year-old star said he seized the opportunity presented.
“Being able to have that couple days of people being like ‘Hey, you have to watch this’ and ‘Hey, this is really important’ was really cool. It was really nice to have that moment. That match…there’s a few times where in the ring I was like ‘All right, I’m completely in this moment and nothing else matters.’ Obviously, you’re always trying to get the win and you’re always trying to compete as best you can. But, that was one of those moments where it feels like life or death…This is my opportunity and I really have to go seize it. So being able to do that and seeing where it took me with the BCC, has just been awesome. “I knew how important it was for me to prove myself, you know? The matches that I had [previously] with Jon Moxley — we had one that took about 90 seconds, one that was about 10 minutes, and that one was about 18 [minutes]. So just being able to show that growth was really my goal,” he said.
It will be interesting to see what is next for Wheeler Yuta.
