Booker T has recalled that he once threatened a former WWE champion after an in-ring incident. The legendary wrestler recalled how he confronted his colleague after a stiff move.
During his time as an active performer, Booker T competed against many top names in the business. Recently, speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the veteran recalled working with former WWE United States champion Finlay.
Thanks for the submission!
He mentioned that Finlay worked stiff at times, and he didn’t mind it. However, on one occasion, Finlay ended up hurting Booker badly.
“I didn’t mind stiff, but I needed safe at the same time. And I remember working a match with Fit Finlay, and he snapped me and kicked me in the back, but he caught me in the kidney area. Man, it really hurt, man. It really, really hurt,” he said.
The former World Heavyweight Champion said once they went backstage, he warned Finlay if he did it again, he would fight him. Booker said the Irishman was never stiff again with him.
“I remember telling him when he came back through the curtain, I said, ‘Bro, kick me like that again; we’re going to be fighting next time when you come back through the curtain.’ But that never happened. Never happened again. But, you know, I get it. I stiffed a lot of guys,” he added.
Finlay and Booker competed against each other frequently in WCW. In WWE, the pair often teamed up with Finlay, who was a part of King Booker’s court.
Booker T says he is not friends with Triple H
Booker T recently opened up about his relationship with Triple H. The WWE Hall of Famer currently works as a commentator on NXT and says while he has a good relationship with The Game, they are not friends.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker mentioned that he has always had a strong business relationship with HHH, but they are not close like friends.
He added that there has always been mutual respect between the two legends.
