Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn will cross paths again at the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia this weekend. As one-sided as it sounds on paper, the current speculation suggests otherwise.
It looks like the result of the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship Match may have been spoiled well in advance.
Thanks for the submission!
After looking for Roman Reigns’ undivided attention throughout the buildup, the Last Real Good Guy finally got one when he delivered a Helluva Kick to The Bloodline leader and stood tall over him on the go-home episode of Monday Night RAW before Crown Jewel.
Neither world title is on the line in the champion-versus-champion bout, which is the whole reason the finish is up for debate.
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez both said on Wrestling Observer Radio that they expect the creative to book the Undisputed WWE Champion to beat the World Heavyweight Champion for the Men’s Crown Jewel Title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 7, 2026.
This is interesting because Roman Reigns has not been beaten in close to a calendar year.
He won the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 in April and went on to defend it against Jacob Fatu, Seth Rollins, Penta, and LA Knight.
Should Roman Reigns squash Sami Zayn at WWE Crown Jewel?
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Raj Dhesi (FKA Jinder Mahal) made a bold prediction for the Men’s Crown Jewel Title Match, saying The OTC will squash The Last Real Good Guy.
He explained why Sami Zayn doesn’t need 50/50 booking:
“Okay, I’m going to make a controversial statement. Sami Zayn gets squashed by Roman [Reigns], because Sami to me is a chicken s**t heel champion. I don’t need him to go fifty-fifty with Roman, and all of a sudden he’s elevated, and now the crowds appreciate him, and now they start to cheer him. That’s a very big risk we run in this situation with this match. It might be a bit of a controversial statement, we don’t give Sami that incredible match. He doesn’t need to [recover from loss]. He’s a heel champion. Look, the thing with being a chicken s**t heel is the performer doesn’t want to do it so now you start doing things to be cool and get cheered and try to break out of this role. Sami has embraced it. That’s another thing why this is working.”
If this happens, it will mark the second time Sami Zayn lost to Roman Reigns since Elimination Chamber 2023, where The OTC continued his reign of terror.
