Tonight, there was a shock title change on WWE RAW, as a new champion was crowned, with Triple H reacting. The COO put out a statement on his social media, reacting to the moment.

Chad Gable held the Intercontinental title for quite some time and was an active fighting champion, to say the least. He defended his title multiple times, putting it on the line a total of 12 times since winning it in August, on both house shows and televised events. However, this may have come at a cost, as when he faced Ethan Page tonight, the star was justifiably not in his best shape, something that Page was able to take advantage of. Catapulting him into the exposed metal turnbuckle when the referee was not watching, Page hit his finisher to get the win.
He is now the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.
Triple H posted a picture with him after he got to the back and celebrated the big win with him. He pointed out that Page had an intercontinental ego, and now he was the Intercontinental Champion, congratulating him for the same.
“An Intercontinental Ego. Congrats to the new Intercontinental Champion, @OfficialEGO!”
Now with Ethan Page as the new champion, it will be interesting to see what happens when Rusev returns to the ring after his time away due to Lana, aka CJ Perry’s, pregnancy. Given their friendship, they could remain as allies, but a title can often create issues, and see the two stars go at each other.
Meanwhile, things may not be over for Chad Gable either, as the star is not one to go down easily. He could be back for the title extremely soon, and Page might have to keep an eye on him.
