Manchester United target Fermin Lopez has clarified that he has no plans to part ways with Barcelona in the near future.

The Spaniard has been a key player for the Catalan giants and he has already registered six goals and six assists from 13 appearances this campaign.

His performances have reportedly caught the eye of United, but Lopez has insisted that he is fully committed to the reigning Spanish champions.

The 23-year-old added that he does not pay attention to needless transfer speculation and hopes to end his football career in a Barcelona shirt.

He said: “I don’t pay attention to that kind of news. I want to stay here at Barça as long as possible… and I hope to end my football career at this club and to retire in a Barcelona shirt.”

Lopez’s comments are a huge blow for the Red Devils, who had seen him as a potential successor to Bruno Fernandes in the number 10 role.

United may have to look elsewhere for an attacking midfielder.
