Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has a clear goal for his NFL career, according to his longtime trainer Jeff Christensen. His ambition is to win 10 Super Bowls before considering retirement.
On Thursday’s “Fearless with Jason Whitlock,” Christensen recalled a conversation with the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback when he was a rookie in 2017. He asked Mahomes about his “get out” number, referring to the amount of money that would convince a player to walk away from football.
Thanks for the submission!
“I’ve had a bunch of guys say they don’t have it, but they do,” Christensen said.

He added that some players change their work ethic after signing lucrative contracts. Mahomes, however, had a different answer.

“Patrick said, ‘My get out is the wins when I win my 10th Super Bowl,’” he said.
The QB guru also remembered telling the young quarterback in July 2017 that he had the ability to become the greatest quarterback ever.
“He just had it,” he said. “That’s what I told Kafka when he called me before they traded Alex Smith. And now, Pat, through all the stuff, his actions have matched his words vehemently. He does not care about money. He wants to be the greatest. And so his action plan is exactly on schedule.”
Mahomes has already won three Super Bowls and three Super Bowl MVP awards with Kansas City. He was the youngest quarterback to win both the regular-season MVP and Super Bowl MVP in the same season, during Super Bowl LIV.
Patrick Mahomes addresses Josh Simmons rumors as Chiefs look to move forward
Patrick Mahomes addressed the reported disagreement with offensive lineman Josh Simmons.
An NFL insider report alleged that Mahomes and Simmons clashed during a team meeting with head coach Andy Reid. Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Mahomes said the situation had not distracted him from the team’s immediate priorities.
“Stuff like that doesn’t really bother me because I’m so in the moment, in the team,” Mahomes said. “We’ve had the right conversations now. We’re moving in the right direction.”
Mahomes also emphasized the importance of resolving disagreements within the Chiefs’ culture.
“You have to be able to have tough conversations so that you can have better conversations going forward,” he said.
Simmons hasn’t played this season because of a back issue. Undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson has started in his absence.
Simmons could return from injured reserve in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals on November 22.
