A beloved star is reportedly set to make his return at AEW Blood and Guts later this week. Nick Wayne, one of the most charismatic stars in the business, has been going viral on social media for the past month. He defeated Chris Jericho twice in the past month. After defeating the Demo God, he decided to go after another title.
The Prodigy then went to NJPW to participate in the Super Junior Tag League. He teamed up with Kushida during the tournament. Unfortunately, they couldn’t reach the finals of the tournament. It seems like he could return to the Jacksonville-based promotion now that his Japan tour is over.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said Nick Wayne might return to AEW and might do something at Blood and Guts on Wednesday night.
“Nick Wayne’s coming back. And I think he’s doing, I think he’s doing one more show, but he’s not doing, he’s not on the card on Tuesday so he’s, he’s flying back early so he could be on the Wednesday show in Jacksonville. So he’s gonna in theory be doing something on that show, but he is,” he said. [H/T – Ringside News]
AEW veteran Chris Jericho apologised to Nick Wayne
After defeating Chris Jericho twice, Nick Wayne asked the former to apologise. On Dynamite, the former AEW World Champion issued an apology for doubting his talent throughout their feud.
“I’m being honest with you. When I was 21, I was a douchebag too. And I wouldn’t have apologised to anyone at that age. But I will say this. After being in this business for as long as I have. I understand that it’s okay to say when you are wrong. So Nick, I’m sorry. Sorry for underestimating you. Sorry for not admitting or understanding just how good you are. But like I said, you have learned. And someday, 20 years from now, you are gonna look back at this time and realise it was turning point of Nick Wayne’s career,” he said.
It will be interesting to see what is next for the Prodigy.
