The Chicago Bears grabbed headlines after trading for four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans on Thursday. Bears’ division rivals, the Green Bay Packers, were also linked with the former Titans star.
Simmons’ arrival in Chicago solidifies the Bears’ chances of making the postseason. The Titans received a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick for Simmons.
Thanks for the submission!
NFL analyst and Packers fan Michelle Smallmon reacted to the Bears’ blockbuster trade for Simmons.

“The Bears just went all in and I’m sick,” she said. “I got the outfit on. They better win tonight. You better beat the Panthers tonight, or else tomorrow is gonna be a bad day for your girl. I’m sick.”

Simmons, who was selected by the Titans in the 2019 NFL draft, has tallied 46.5 sacks, 72 tackles for loss and 96 quarterback hits in his eight seasons with the franchise. The Pro Bowl defensive tackle is expected to aid the Bears’ push for the Super Bowl in 2026.
Titans hope to build roster for “future” after trading Jeffery Simmons to the Bears
The Titans traded their captain after a woeful 1-6 start to the 2026 season. Titans coach Robert Saleh said losing one of their best players “s**ks” but deemed it “necessary.”
Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said that the move to trade Jeffery Simmons wasn’t planned but it gives them the opportunity to build the roster for the future.
“You have to be real with where you’re at when you look at the team,” Borgonzi said. “How are you gonna be better next year, the year after, the year after? You’re always looking at a three-year window with the roster.
“We felt like this was the best decision moving forward for us, as hard as it is, to really accelerate that process.”
Borgonzi said he received a call from Bears general manager Ryan Poles on Wednesday night, which led to the trade.
