Rey Mysterio has become one of WWE‘s biggest legends over the past few decades, but it seems that his status didn’t come without issues.
While speaking with Adrian Hernandez on Unlikely, Mysterio talked about breaking Undertaker’s nose on an episode of SmackDown in 2010.
Thanks for the submission!
“I actually did it off the West Coast Pop. Yeah, I was scared for my life after that. Yeah, trust me.”
Rey Mysterio noted that it was an accident, and it happened when he delivered his West Coast Pop, but it seems that it was still a terrifying incident for him.
Mysterio isn’t the only star to break someone’s nose in a match, since Seth Rollins famously accidentally broke John Cena’s nose during a match on RAW back in 2015.
Rollins and Cena remained friends after, and this was at the height of Rollins’ massive WWE push, but it still came from a freak accident when he delivered a knee to his face.
Rey Mysterio could retire from WWE next year
It’s a tough time for WWE fans, since John Cena and AJ Styles have both retired from the company in the last year, but it seems that Rey Mysterio could be adding himself to that list.
The former World Champion and Hall of Famer is currently working as the General Manager of AAA, while also continuing to wrestle at the highest level. It seems that his wrestling career could be coming to an end next year, since Mysterio will soon be turning 52 and could be looking for a less physical role.
His General Manager role in AAA is still expected to be there, but he could also work with younger talent and continue to help push forward luchadors in WWE.
Dragon Lee appears to be being groomed to be the next big luchador on WWE’s main roster, despite Dominik Mysterio wanting to take over when his father walks away.
Mysterio and his son are expected to embark on a lengthy feud heading into his final match, with many fans under the impression that Rey would want his final WWE match to be against his own son.
