Dominik Mysterio’s WWE career has taken a surprising turn since beating John Cena in his penultimate match at Survivor Series 2026.

As part of his Retirement Tour, Cena defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the Intercontinental Championship on the Nov. 10, 2025, episode of Monday Night RAW. The victory enabled The GOAT to attain the status of a Grand Slam Champion, as that was his first time winning the IC Title.

Thanks for the submission!

However, “Dirty Dom” later got his rematch at Survivor Series, where he managed to beat The Franchise Player to regain the Intercontinental Championship, thanks to interference from a returning Liv Morgan.

Considering this, pinning a legendary babyface like John Cena in his final Premium Live Event match should have generated significant heel heat for Dominik or even cemented his status as one of WWE’s top villains. However, it seems that the victory did not have the desired long-term effect.

Statistics show that Dominik Mysterio has lost nearly 80% of his televised WWE matches since defeating the Cenation Leader. He has competed in 18 matches during that period, winning just four and losing the remaining 14.

It now remains to be seen whether WWE’s creative team will give Dominik a more compelling storyline moving forward.

Dominik Mysterio failed to regain the AAA Mega Championship at Héroes Inmortales 2026

Dominik Mysterio failed to regain the AAA Mega Championship at Héroes Inmortales 2026, where he lost to El Grande Americano.

The former AAA Mega Champion entered the bout hoping to reclaim the title he lost to Americano at TripleMania 34. Dominik even had Dorian Roldán and Omos in his corner to help him overcome the reigning champion.

The match featured several interference attempts. Roldán attacked Americano with a steel chair before the match even began. Omos also got involved. He pulled the referee out of the ring to prevent a potential three-count.

However, Rey Mysterio eventually came to Americano’s aid. He attacked his son alongside Omos with a steel chair. The distraction then allowed Americano to capitalize and hit “Dirty Dom” with his signature running headbutt to secure the victory.

In the end, Americano retained the AAA Mega Championship, leaving Dominik’s pursuit of the gold unsuccessful once again.
