Ludwig Kaiser is one of the most active wrestlers in WWE currently. He plays the character of El Grande Americano. While he is having fun with his character in the Stamford-based promotion, he has not had much fun in his personal life. The former NXT World Tag Team Champion was arrested on misdemeanor battery charges earlier this year. Now, there’s an update on the case.
Back on April 23, 2026, Ludwig Kaiser and his girlfriend Andrea Bazarte were reportedly getting uncomfortably intimate inside an apartment elevator in Orlando, Florida. As the couple exited the elevator on the 12th floor, a neighbor, Richard Reap, asked them to “have some manners.” This triggered the WWE Superstar, and he pushed Reap to the ground and punched him. Kasier was arrested on May 20th. His defense had pleaded not guilty, claiming that Reap had confronted him aggressively and thus was acting in self-defense. Now, the defense has been given full access to the medical records of Richard Reap.
Thanks for the submission!
“COMES NOW, the State of Florida, by and through the undersigned Assistant State Attorney [Juanda Padgett] and hereby makes the following information available to the defense and states as follows: Please provide a blank DVD for copy of Redacted Medical Records. Upon receipt a copy will be made and sent to your office via US mail,” the filing read.
On October 19th a motion to dismiss the battery case was denied by the court. A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for December 17th.
Ludwig Kaiser as El Grande Americano in WWE
Throughout this year, Kaiser has been wrestling under the moniker El Grande Americano. He has captured multiple championships during his run. Americano is a former WWE Men’s Speed Champion and is also the current AAA Mega Champion.
One of the most talked-about matches of this year was the Mask versus Mask match between El Grande Americano (Kasier) and the Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) in Lucha Libre AAA’s Noche de Los Grandes.
Despite dealing with legal issues, Kaiser is still actively competing in WWE as El Grande Americano.
