WWE legend Paul Heyman has spoken up about why he refuses to get married
Thanks for the submission!
Paul Heyman recently appeared in an interview where, on In Depth With Graham Besinger, he spoke about how he refused to get married. He said that he had no issue with monogamous relationships in the long term, but he didn’t like the legal aspect of marriage, where it becomes an obligation.
“No… because it’s a trap.”
The WWE legend said that if he woke up next to someone, he wanted it to be because of a decision they were making to stay, knowing that they could leave at any time.
“No, really, because at some point in it, your decision to stay is obligatory because of a piece of paper. If I wake up next to somebody, I want to know that they’re there because they chose to be there, because they have the absolute freedom to walk out the door and they chose not to.”
He was then asked about a prenup, to which he said that even a prenup was just a legal requirement and talked about money and custody. He wanted it to be natural.
“So, then you’re in an arrangement. A prenup says, if you’re here for five years, you get this much percentage of the money, you get this car and you get this condo and custody of the dog. A prenup makes it… an arrangement.”
The star answered that he had many long-term relationships in his life, and some of them were at the same time. He also confirmed he had monogamous relationships as well.
“I have had many long-term relationships – some of them at the same time.”
The WWE legend was clear on where he stands.
