Manchester City are reluctant to meet Chelsea’s current valuation for right-back Malo Gusto, according to football.london.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move to the Cityzens this summer following the Blues’ decision to land Marco Palestra.

Palestra has been signed to provide cover for James at right-back, which has spread speculation that Gusto could be shown the exit door.

Man City have been credited with an interest due to manager Enzo Maresca, but the club are quite clear that they won’t pay over the odds.

The Mancunian giants have been left baffled by the Blues’ £75m price tag for the Frenchman and have no plans of meeting such a huge fee.

Instead, they are prepared to negotiate a much lower sum. If there is no scope, the club are willing to look elsewhere for a new solution.

Gusto has already opened the door for a new challenge elsewhere, knowing that he may struggle for regular first-team football at Chelsea.
