A man has appeared in court charged with murder after another man died during a summer solstice event in the Peak District.
The body of Isaac Clare-Watts, 26, from Nottingham, was found in the area of the Nine Ladies Stone Circle in Stanton Lees at 13:38 BST on 22 June.
Police said Szymon Babynko – a Polish national – had been charged with Clare-Watts’s murder.
Babynko, of Commonwealth Way, London, appeared at Derby Justice Centre on Monday also charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in relation to an incident in Hady Lane, Chesterfield, on Thursday.
The 23-year-old spoke only to confirm his name, age and address during the short hearing.
District judge Jonathan Taff remanded Babynko into custody ahead of a court date at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday.
A 41-year-old man – arrested on suspicion of murder after Clare-Watts’s death – was released on bail last week.
Police have set up a major incident public portal, through which members of the public can send officers information.
