Donna Vekic is soaking in the scenic views of the Maldives after ending her 2026 season. The Croatian shared a glimpse of her tropical getaway while taking a well-deserved break to relax after a tough season.
Vekic achieved her best result of the year at the Queen’s Club Championships, clinching the WTA 500 title as a lucky loser after beating Emma Raducanu 6-0, 7-6(6) in the final. However, the 30-year-old struggled to back up the result with further success, as she suffered opening-round exits at the next five tournaments.
Thanks for the submission!
The Croatian snapped her five-match losing streak with a hard-fought 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win over Talia Gibson at the US Open before falling short against Ann Li in the second round. Following a first-round exit at the Singapore Open and a third-round loss at the China Open, Vekic ended her season with a 6-4, 6-2 defeat to Maria Sakkari in her tournament opener at the Wuhan Open.
Vekic has since embarked on a relaxing getaway to the Maldives, capturing scenic moments as she spent time at the beach and sipped on fresh coconut water, dressed in a white crochet bikini.

“If you look good on court, you feel good” – Donna Vekic on her love for fashion

During an appearance on WTA Style Unpacked amid the Singapore Open, Donna Vekic opened up about her love for fashion, explaining that looking good on the court positively impacted her performance.
“I love fashion. If you look good on court, you feel good. You play better. So, I’m not the biggest expert. I know when I like something, but I don’t really know how to put it together,” Vekic said.
In addition to her stylish on-court outfits, the 30-year-old is also known for wearing glittering diamond jewelry during matches. Vekic even launched her own jewelry line DASH earlier this year, shedding light on the philosophy behind her decision to compete in the jewels instead of keeping them tucked away.
“Wearing diamonds on court wasn’t a fashion choice. It was a part of who I am. Over the years, people kept asking about the pieces I played in. That’s when I realized something important: Jewelry shouldn’t be something you take off to live your life. It should move with you, shine with you and become part of your rituals,” she said.
“For me, jewelry has always been emotional,” she added. “I’ve worn diamonds through victories, losses, long training days and some of the biggest moments of my career. They make me feel strong, empowered and grounded, even when the stakes are high.”
Before her campaign at the China Open, Donna Vekic took a trip to Thailand, during which she offered peeks at her jewelry brand’s collection, interspersed with moments of her unwinding by the poolside and indulging in lavish dinners.
