A popular WWE Superstar has just seemingly paid homage to Bryan Danielson during her match tonight at NXT Halloween Havoc. Interestingly, she used one of his moves that sometimes gets lost in history.
Bryan Danielson has showcased several moves throughout his career, as he has been labeled one of the best technical wrestlers in history. His most popular moves include the Busaiku Knee, the Lebell Lock, also known as the Yes Lock, and the Yes Kicks. But apart from his usual moveset, he is the type of wrestler who gets creative in the ring and brings out various maneuvers and grapples.
One of the moves he popularized during the early days of his career is the Cattle Mutilation Lock. This is done by him going for a double underhook with the opponent lying flat on the mat and pulling both arms upward, applying pressure to their upper body.
He has also passed down the move to Wheeler Yuta, as the Death Riders member began using it during their time together in the Blackpool Combat Club as a show of respect to his mentor. When the group split, he would use this to send a message to Bryan Danielson.
Another top star who has been using this move is NXT’s Wren Sinclair, as she calls this the Final Wrench. She has been using the hold for some time now and has gotten wins with it. Tonight on Halloween Havoc, she used this during her Women’s title match against Kelani Jordan. But this wasn’t enough to get her the win.
An old clip of her using Bryan Danielson’s iconic submission move can be seen below.
In the end, Jordan was able to roll her up for the win and gain a slight edge by putting her foot on the middle rope. An unfortunate loss for her, but she has proven that she can hold her own against the champion. Her chance to take the gold may come eventually.
